After growing up in the Midwest and a short stint on the East coast, I finally headed West to fulfill a life-long dream of living in California.  It has been everything I could have imagined and more.  From the majestic views of Yosemite to the hikes I can do in the Redwood Park in my town, there is an abundance of fun, mostly free activities waiting to be tackled.

I started writing as a way to show others that it's easy to do great local weekend activities that don't break the bank or require a lot of planning.

My first love is being outside, closely followed by finding great craft beer and sipping fabulous wine. You'll find a little bit of it all here.

Like a good number of people, I sit behind a desk all week and just want to get out in the sun and play on the weekends.  I hope you find this information helpful and motivating to try something new and explore the beautiful things around us.
